5 Positions Available at Caritas Tabora in a Variety of Positions

 Tabora, in collaboration with OSPREY FOUNDATION and the Catholic Relief Service (CRS) plan to implement a one-year project (January 2023- December 2023) on Awareness Creation to increase Covid 19 vaccination uptake in Tabora, Tanzania. The project aims to increase the up taking of vaccination in two Districts namely Tabora Municipal and Uyui in Tabora Region, Tanzania. The project will deploy generic approaches such as campaigns (door to door and mass campaigns), advocacy, faith-based platforms and service promotion.
The Executive Director of Caritas Tabora therefore announces (full time) contract-based job opportunities to all qualified Tanzanian candidates in the following positions:

Project Coordinator (1 Post)
The successful candidate will work directly with Caritas Tabora Director to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Covid-19 vaccination rollout program in Tabora. He/she will facilitate the achievement of project objectives through coordinating and reporting on project progress which includes creation of awareness on Covid-19 vaccines. With regards to community awareness creation, the project will adhere to the Government Covid-19 protocol, the project plans to create more awareness, integrate and strengthen health systems, and religious settings to effectively engage in promoting Covid-19 vaccine up taking initiatives and delivering quality Covid-19 vaccine services; strengthening community involvement in promoting the vaccine at community level and increasing vaccine acceptance through CHW/Volunteers. Mass campaign and strategic advocacy meetings and trainings will be involved; this activity will target rural areas, and special groups such as elderly and people with disabilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

To provide technical inputs for the implementation of Covid-19 vaccine up taking initiatives (this will include providing ongoing coaching, mentorship, and supervisions of implemented activities.
Supporting the outreach Covid 19 vaccination services
Engage communities, Government, and other implementing stakeholders in providing feedback and productive inputs that would guarantee feasible activities, ownership, quality and realized intended outcomes
Provide coaching and mentorship to SILK groups to build their technical capacities to implement Covid-19 vaccine up taking initiatives.
Monitor (in assistance with finance officer) partner financial burn-rate and timely implementation of targeted activities within respective quarter.
Provide clear documentation of programmatic achievements and keep project management team informed on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Basic Qualifications

Reputable first Degree in Public health, Social Sciences and/ or related field
Master’s in Public Health, Social Sciences will be an added advantage.
At least 3-year proven work experience as a Training/ Program Coordinator, Facilitation skills, or similar role in resource limited healthcare delivery or administration.
Good understanding & experiences working with MCDGWSP and Government health systems, RHMTs and CHMTs is desirable
Experience working with donor funded projects implementing COVID 19 related and advocacy activities.
Experience in utilization of virtual training platforms; skills and knowledge in MS Applications & ability to apply data in decision making.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English & Swahili
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Excellent relationship management skills with ability to influence and get buy-in from people not under direct supervision
Good capacity to work with individuals in diverse geographical and cultural settings.
Strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving and systems thinking skills with capacity to see the big picture and ability to make sound judgment
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong presentation, facilitation, training, mentoring, and coaching skills
Proactive, resourceful, and results-oriented

Health Officer/SBC Specialist (1 post)
The successful candidate will work directly with Caritas Tabora Director to coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Covid 19 vaccination rollout program in Tabora. Integrate and apply the social behaviour change communication (SBCC) approach to pass the messages of vaccines to individuals aiming to reduce hesitance and increase acceptance of Covid-19 vaccines.
To promote the risk communication and community engagement (RCCE) to enhance lifesaving and create community resilience by using text messages.
Supporting the outreach Covid-19 vaccination services
Assisting the project coordinator to provide clear documentation of programmatic achievements and keep project management team informed on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Basic Qualifications

Reputable first Degree in Psychology, Public health, Social Sciences and/ or related field
Master’s in Public Health, Psychology, and Social Sciences will be an added advantage.
At least 3-year proven work experience as a Training/ Program Coordinator, Facilitation skills, or similar role in resource limited healthcare delivery or administration.
Good understanding & experiences working with MCDGWSP and Government health systems, RHMTs and CHMTs is desirable
Experience working with donor funded projects implementing SBC and advocacy activities.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Officer (1 Post)
The successful candidate will work directly with the Caritas Tabora to ensure that MEAL systems are consistently integrated and implemented throughout Covid-19 rollout project activities. He/she will plan, organize, and execute MEAL activities in accordance with Caritas guidance, work closely with other stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery of vaccine services to the community.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Creating, developing, and supporting programme teams to use Monitoring, Evaluation, accountability & Learning (MEAL) systems
To collect, aggregate, analyseand store data including facility and project data as well as household surveys
Playing a key role in ensuring that the reporting needs of key stakeholders are met on time
In liaison with the beneficiary accountability focal point, they champion beneficiary accountability within the organisation and work with programme staff to ensure that beneficiary feedback is considered and communicated at all stages of project design and implementation.
Provide clear documentation of programmatic achievements and keep project management team informed on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Basic Qualifications

Reputable First Degree in Public health, Social Sciences and/ or related field
2 years of experience managing a humanitarian M&E system including supervising household surveys.
Experience designing, planning, implementing, analysing and writing reports for household surveys
Experience using some of the following: DHIS, SPSS, STATA, EPI-INFO and/or SMART –ENA software.
Able to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in utilization of virtual training platforms; skills and knowledge in MS Applications & ability to apply data in decision making.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently.

Qualifications: Driving Certificate from recognized Institutes; holder of up-to-date driving licence with Class A, B, C, D, and E. Secondary education will be an added advantage.

Desirable Skills and Requirements:

Experience in driving in the remote areas and rough roads; experience in defensive driving, and VIP driving.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years working experience in similar position.

Key Responsibility

Responsible to ensure safe transport to project stakeholders – both internal and external and project resources

Assistant Accountant (1 post)
The successful candidate will work with Caritas Tabora to provide financial technical assistance in the implementation of the Covid 19 vaccine rollout project. He/she will review and process cash advances for partner, & coordinate timely submission of funding reports, expenses reports, and monitor project burn-rate in accordance with CARITAS financial regulation and or CRS guidance, and Tanzania principles.

Basic Qualifications

University degree in Accounting/Finance/ Economics or Business Management.
Experiences in the use of Insight systems & mobile wallet systems will be an added advantage.
At least 3-year proven work experience as financial management & partner financial capacity building in ambitious & complex programs.
Good understanding & experiences working with faith-based partners (e.g., Caritas,), Government health systems, RHMTs and CHMTs is desirable
Experience working with donor funded projects implementing advocacy activities.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently.

Ability to work under minimum supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible with day to day accounting and financial management of Covid 19 rollout project and Caritas Office; designing and implementing office financial sustainability strategies; facilitating semi-annual and annual audits; and report writing.
