The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be played in Qatar from 22 November to 15 June 2022. It will be the first time the tournament is hosted in the Arab world, and the first time it will be held in the Middle East. The 2022 World Cup will feature 32 teams playing 64 games. Qatar will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup

With all the controversy surrounding the bid process for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, it is not surprising that few people were aware that Qatar was set to host the 2026 edition too. However, after a unanimous vote by the FIFA Executive Committee in October 2017, Qatar is set to host the 2026 edition of the tournament,
with the first game to be played on 14 June 2026. Qatar was awarded the 2022 World Cup in 2010 after a vote by Fifa’s 208 member federations. The decision to award the tournament to the Middle East was met with widespread criticism, with many stating that it was inappropriate to hold the event in a country that did not have proper air-conditioning facilities in place.
